Such a shame. For a very experienced doctor who's written and spoken about mental health for years, he fails to understand the mental state of his vulnerable female patients when he takes a personal (i.e.twisted) interest in them. Perhaps should only be allowed to have male patients.

This psychiatrist allegedly broke his oath by sexually harassing his own patient, a reported rape victim.

According to several documents sent in by a reader, Dr. Gurdeep, a psychiatrist at a Petaling Jaya hospital, violated the trust of his patient, who will be referred to as Ms. A.

He was supposed to be giving professional advice to the rape victim, but unfortunately misused his responsibility by actually telling to Ms. A that “sex is good”, that he has a lot of sex, and that “people should enjoy sex.”

The woman was referred to Dr. Gurdeep for her treatment in early 2019 but didn’t expect that her life would then change for the worse just from that first meeting.

Men making catcalls is becoming rampant, especially in the city and Selangor, and women are finding it offensive. While some perceive it as an invasion of privacy and also intimidating, others simply choose to ignore it. Checks by the Sun, from January to May, showed a total of 118 cases have been reported nationwide, mostly in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. While catcalling may seem harmless, psychiatrist Dr Gurdeep Singh Grewal said it could potentially lead to rape or assault. Of course, when the perpetrator is obsessive, it can lead to sexual assault, he said. Gurdeep Singh added there is a theory in psychology which says such actions may stem from what is called modelling theory . Modelling theory is a form of learning where individuals ascertain how to act or perform by observing another individual.
