Associate Professor Dr Muhammad Muhsin Ahmad Zahari started his career in 1999 at the Penang Hospital. His areas of expertise include general psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, and community and rehabilitation psychiatry. He is a member of the Youth Psychiatric Council for the World Psychiatric Association, and the Malaysian Psychiatric Association. In the past, he has been affiliated to the University of Yale, Department of Internal Medicine, as a research affiliate, the World Psychiatric Association, the Malaysian Psychiatric Association, and the Malaysian Medical Association. He recently contributed to the International Journal of Addiction Sciences, I Early Online, Asian Journal of Development Matters Vol. 4(2), and The American Journal of Drug and Alcohol Abuse. He is an active researcher in his field, having participated in 15 projects since 2004, as well as consulted on 6 projects. For his contributions, he was awarded a Fellowship in Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Community, Korea, WHO Collaborating Center, Korea, Fellowship in Young Psychiatry, World Psychiatric Association (WPA), 2008, received grants from the Open Medical Institute, Open Society Institute, 2008, as well as awarded the Excellence Service Award 2007, University of Malaya, 2007, (University). He also received an Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (EIPRS) awarded by the Government of Australia, 2007, (International). He is often invited as a key expert to share on Malaysian media.
