YHK Badminton Academy (YHK BA) was officially established on the 18th August 2011 with Yong Hock Kin as its Chief Coach. The former world no.2 Yong Hock Kin was the 1998 Indonesian Open Champion, and 2001 Thailan Open Champion. He also took part in Thomas Cup in years 1994, 1996, 1998 and 2000. His coaching career started when he was offered to coach the national back-up squad in Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) since his retirement in 2002. He also was coaching in Miri and Bintulu Sarawak for a period of time before moving to Melaka. For the past three years, Yong Hock Kin has established his centres in Jasin and Tangkak besides its coaching home base in Batu Berendam, Melaka. Currently, there are more than 200 players training in the 12 venues under YHK BA.
