Very good school in the 70's. Great to learn about the history. Sad to see the current state of the old buildings

I attended from 1957 to 1958, and the headmaster was Mr Abbott, and his wife Clare was famous for watercolours of Malayan landscape. Sometime during the year there was an upset and Abbott was replaced by a lady headteacher whose name I have forgotten, I think it was Mrs Hawkins. She was more strict and made us wash behind our ears. Trying to remember names, I can remember my friend John Duncan, Barry Winser, Carlin Winser (Headgirl). Alastair Rennie, Pippa Cottrell. The Latin teacher Mrs Debeski , One of the matrons was called Miss Ong. I can remember many other people by their face, but it will take a time for the other names to return from deep memory. unfortunately, my family returned to England in March 1958 and I was removed before the end of Academic year. Even at the age of 68, I still check my Wellington boots for scorpions before putting them on. I used to enjoy the flights from Ipoh to Penang on Dakota DC3.
