Kurakura was our favourite experience. We loved every minute of our five nights there. We slept soundly every night with the jungle orchestra surrounding us.

Such a wonderful experience in the middle of the jungle. We had lots of fun walking trough the jungle, hidden caves and the river. Lars is a great guide and Lisa cooked better than any restaurant. We gonna miss it! These guys and their kids are lovely. Thank you, Liza, Lars, Froya and Fiona

Such a beautiful place and wonderful hosts with Lars and Liza's endless local knowledge, interesting stories, amazing food and general warmth and welcome. You can't help but leave Kurakura feeling refreshed, looked after and with a new appreciation for the beauty of Borneo. Worth a visit for the boat ride to the house alone! Such a unique place and special people, its hard to do it justice in a review...just go see for yourself

Our 4 days/ 3 nights at Kurakura were the highlight of our 2 weeks holiday in Sarawak. Lars and Lisa are great and very hospitable hosts. Lisa is such a good cook! We are vegetarians and the dishes she came up with every day were so yummy! The house is in the middle of the jungle, the river is 2 minutes down the hill, every night we fell asleep in the sounds of the jungle, slept like logs, and woke up in the morning in other sounds of the jungle. We went on a couple of jungle treks, Lars is an amazing guide, he pointed out all the interesting things we had to see, including safety precautions, like water holes in the ground covered with leaves, helping us passing steep slopes, difficult terrain, cutting the way for us through the thick jungle with his machete, and he took us to unique places that were only to ourselves. He took us to a hidden waterfall where we took a bath in the small pond at its base, right in the middle of the jungle, then another day he took us to a huge cave, where we saw giant spiders, bats, and enjoyed the tranquility of the nature. The boat trips on the river were amazing, and the skills with which he took us on the river on that narrow boat, and the views we had on the quiet and smooth river, the sounds coming from the jungle on both sides, it was amazing. Loved every minute of our stay there and the time spent with Lars and Lisa, and the trekks that Lars took us on. Highly recommended! Room Tip: Book the three nights package instead of the two nights, to give you more time to enjoy what that pl...

Very well hidden in the jungle you find Kura Kura Homestay. The boat trip there alone is an adventure! Lisa and Lars are super hospitable and have a beautiful resort built together. They grow herbs themselves, which they then used in the evening while eating. They also organize tours through the jungle and boat trips. Really recommended !!
