2011, went to him because I have slight hearing problem my ear. Did a pressure test and hearing test and everything came out normal, no indication of infections of pain. He insist that I put on a grommet on because will help to balance the ear pressure on airplane. Claim that everybody who travel by air will insert a grommet and the grommet will fall out by itself after 6 months and told me I can swim and deep dive after 1 year. Doctor Lee Leong Meng rushed through the procedure. Did not wait for the numbing cream to take effect, just inserted the grommets on the spot, I told me him it was painful when he poked my ear, he then yelled at me to keep still and continue on. He pressured me and my parents into having the procedure done, he also scare us with that fact that I had to fly long distance and severely downplay the effect of performing a minor surgical procedure on the ear. Dr Lee was extremely impatient and rushed us and even blamed us for taking up his time because he is late for this lunch appointment with his friend.
6 months later in a country abroad for study, I saw the GP and GP said that the grommet is inserted incorrectly right on the eardrum.
Fast forward 3 years later, I have ear infection. Went to another ENT and had grommets removed on both sides of the ear, and diagnosed with a large hole of 70% of the eardrum. Eardrum did not heal back after a year because of the grommets inserted right into the eardrum for too long. Did a surgery to patch up the eardrum, but failed because the hole is too big. Saw 3 ENT who saw my past records, they and said that there was no reason to attached the grommet at all. Parents wanted to sue Dr. Lee but because it's been so many years, I cannot prove that it cause by the doctor's procedure.
Dr Lee Leong Meng ruined my life because I am a swimmer and diver.
From no issues with my ear to having to be careful for the rest of my life when it comes to showering and playing with water. Give 4 stars for waiting time because he was the only available ENT who do not need to wait to see...
