Datin Dr Hu Shan has worked and trained in the United Kingdom over 22 years. She was a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who specialises in Reproductive Medicine and IVF at Bourn Hall Cambridge Clinic, one of the UK's top referral centre, which was founded in 1980 by IVF pioneers Mr Patrick Steptoe and Professor Robert Edwards. They were responsible for the conception of Louise Brown, the world's first IVF or test-tube baby in 1978.
She has been recruited from the United Kingdom under the Malaysian Talent Corp Returning Experts Programme to KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital to set up and provide IVF / Reproductive Medicine unit of international standard at the hospital, which is one of the top KPJ hospitals in Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia. The fertility services include tests and treatment for infertility, in-vitro fertilization (IVF), intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), artificial insemination (AI), etc.
