Rely on only one doctor to do the surgery and consultation. After diagnosing my mother's eye problem as cataract, he just said that a surgery was needed, gave us a very brief explanation and asked us to refer to the nurses outside for more info when we asked more questions. The nurses outside have no idea how to answer our questions when we asked more about the procedure and could only tell us the difference in price for different types of lens used in the cataract procedure. How can I be reassured to let him do the procedure on my mother if he is that busy to even give proper explanation? After searching online, I found out that there are 2 types of available treatment for cataract. Then I realized that I have NO idea if this doctor will be using the conventional method or laser method for his treatment and have absolutely no idea that there were risk involved, despite how minimal. If I have to obtain all these information online for explanation, this shows how much (in this case, little) information the doctor provided us with on the cataract procedure.
