I was a patient in orthopedic section more than a year ago. I would like to say a big thank you to all Doctors, nurses etc who attended to me during my surgery and stay in the hospital. Everyone was professional and helpful.

On Monday 14 November 2022 I went to the Miri General Hospital for a minor injury on my right hand, caused by my own dog’s paw. I arrived at the emergency unit at 2.30 pm, with a reference letter from 1 Malaysia Klinik at Pujut 1. I was told to go straight to the unit situated near the main-entrance. But they send me back to Room 2. I was immediately given a new dressing and told to wait outside. After waiting for more than 2 hours, at about 5 pm, I enquired how long more I have to wait, because I felt a bit tired. They said the Doctor is busy and told me to wait, and not to go away. Another 2 hours passed, and I began to feel very cold and tired. It was already about 7.30 pm. I enquired a second time, and I was told again to just wait for the Doctor to come. The thought about suffering from rabies gave me the patience to continue waiting. But at about 9.30 pm I started to feel a bit unwell (strong palpitation and fever). I went in to tell them off and threatened to lodge a complaint, and went home.
During that 7 long hours of waiting outside, I noticed that many patients came in and received treatment and left.
I hope the Management will carry out an investigation and do something about this kind of problem.
