Sent in my dog for a surgery . It stayed in hospital for a week, then upon discharge a few days later, found infected with secondary infection- some superbug that required very expensive antibiotic treatment of more than $600! . I find the hospital is quite crammed and suspect the place is not disinfected / cleaned to a high degree- eg: bucket of mop water is black and the worker just keep mopping with it and use the same water throughout without changing! I don’t know if urine n other discharge flow in common drain through bottom of cages or separately for each animal.)
I Wonder if others also experience having to fork out hundreds of ringgit for antibiotic resistant bacteria treatment after surgery/ hospital stay. If so, please post so the hospital will know it needs to disinfect thoroughly and improve its SOP for hygiene for our pets’ sake.
