I do NOT recommend this doctor. He is not professional, arrogant, and incompetent. Everyone who is looking for treatment for brain tumor should be aware that some neurosurgeons tend to suggest radiosurgery (gamma knife or cyber knife) because these are simpler procedures that can make a great deal of easy money compared with open surgery. Total removal of tumor by open surgery is always a better option than radiosurgery if the tumor site is accessible/not in critical area. Please also be aware that some neurosurgeons tend to say that your tumor site is inaccessible and suggest that radiosurgery is the only option or suggest both open surgery and radiosurgery. Always keep in mind that when diagnosed with brain tumor, things to do: (i) don't be panic and rush as it is usually not that scary as you expected (some people like my grandma still can live with brain tumors for twenty years and more until now); (ii) get treatment advice from SEVERAL neurosurgeons; and (iii) decide which treatment is the best for you or your family.

My family member was treated by Chee Chee Pin. To us, this doctor is incompetent and dishonest. Everyone considers this doctor should reconsider your choice as we do not hope you will end up with the same trauma as us. If you choose this doctor, you may end up paying 80k-100k for a brain surgery and 40k-50k for Gamma Knife but still your illness is hidden and not treated. Radiosurgery like Cyber Knife and Gamma Knife should not be used to treat benign tumor as it can make the tumor become aggressive. Please seek for several second opinions before starting any treatment.

Dr Chee has caused my mother and my family a deeply traumatic life by making a benign meningioma to a malignant meningioma. Based on several second opinions, benign meningioma should not be treated using radiosurgery e.g. Cyber Knife or Gamma Knife as this type of tumor grows very slow. It is our great regret that my mother has been treated by this doctor and there was no return of her life. I advise people who are diagnosed with brain tumor to seek opinions from different local and overseas neurosurgeons before starting any treatments. Please find a neurosurgeon who is humble, listens to you, explains your case in details, does not make you panic, and encourages you to seek second opinions.

According to Dr Chee, Gamma Knife is radiosurgery that uses powerful doses of radiation to target and treat diseased brain tissue, while leaving surrounding tissue intact. The advantage of Gamma Knife is the exact precision that it is capable of.
