Steps to apply Bantuan Sara Hidup 2020

On 11 October 2019, the government has announced the Belanjawan 2020 with the theme “Shared prosperity” also known as  “Kemakmuran Bersama” on the highly-anticipated event. The annual budget presentation was presented by the Minister of Finance Lim Guan Eng which included aid by the government for the citizens such as household aid, an increase in minimum wages, improvements in health care, etc.

One of the main topics is household aid for the less fortunate family that is below the ideal wage that has been set by the government to survive in the modern days. The household aid is named Bantuan Sara Hidup Rakyat (BSH) which was previously known as Bantuan Rakyat Malaysia (BR1M). But several aspects and structures of BSH have been reviewed so that only qualified applicants receive this assistance.

This subsidy is based on an individual that has low income, B40 which has a low household income that is below RM4,000 for one family.

There are several BSH 2020 categories :
Household
1. RM1,000 aid
- Monthly gross income of RM2,000 households and below
- A Malaysian citizen living in Malaysia.

2. RM750 aid
- Monthly gross income between RM2,011 to RM3,000 (including senior citizens)
- A Malaysian citizen living in Malaysia.

3. RM500 aid
- Monthly gross income between RM3,001 and RM4,000 (including senior citizens)
- A Malaysian citizen living in Malaysia.

Single
RM300 aid
- Gross monthly income of less than RM2,000
- A Malaysian citizen living in Malaysia.
- 40 years old and above.

OKU
RM300 aid
- Gross monthly income of less than RM2,000
- A Malaysian citizen living in Malaysia.
- 18 years and over.

Criteria’s that are qualified to apply for Bantuan Sara Hidup 2020 :

  1. An individual that has never applied for BR1M or BSH before.
  2. An individual that has applied for BR1M or BSH but failed.
  3. A living partner that received BSH 2018 that already passed away or divorced.
  4. Nationality Malaysia that currently resides in Malaysia only.
  5. Head of the family ( male or female ) or members living in the house with monthly gross income RM4,000 and below.
  6. Senior citizen ( age 60 years old and above ) that lives alone and have a monthly gross income of RM4,000 and below.

Criteria’s that are unqualified to receive Bantuan Sara Hidup 2020 :

  1. Household income above RM4,000
  2. Working or staying at oversee
  3. Non-resident spouse / single mother or father/widow or widower without children
  4. Fail to present the necessary document during applying.
  5. Transaction of property ownership of over RM500,000.

*Applicants can start applying for BSH 2020 from 1 February 2020 until 15 Mac 2020

There are 2 ways to apply for the Bantuan Sara Hidup Rakyat 2020

  1. Online application
  2. Over the counter

Online Application

For applying BSH online applicants need to surf the portal below and are recommended to print out a copy of the application for future references.

There is some information that needs to be fulfilled to complete the application.

1. Complete all the information that needs to be fulfilled such as below.

  • Applicant information
  • Making sure the phone number is correct for login purposes.

2. Child information

  • Only applicable for 4 kids

3. Bank information

  • If the applicant does not have a bank account, bank account or not valid or the transfer is not successful, Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) will open a new account for the applicant with terms and conditions.

4. Beneficiary information

  • The only beneficiaries such as mother, father, partner, child, siblings or grandchildren are eligible to register.

5. Uploading all the legal documents that are required such as marriage certificate/divorce certificate or birth certificate maximum 3MB per fail.
6. After that, the applicant is required to make confirmation by filling the “Captcha Code” that is shown.
7. Next, an applicant is required to right (tick) on the box that is available to confirm the information that has been filled.
8. Last, if the applicant has already fulfilled are the information, press the send button to complete the registration for the new applicant. If there’s any information that is not complete, the applicant can click the button save to store the information and update it anytime.

Over the counter

For applying BSH manually or over the counter, an applicant can get the application form at any Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) or Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN) branch nearby or applicant can just download it from BSH official web portal.

After the application form has been filled, the applicant needs to bring the application form to any Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) or Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN) branch before the application deadline. You can check out LHDN branches at our website: Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia

Documents that are needed to be brought or presented :

1. Applicant

  • Copy of marriage certificate released by Jabatan Agama Islam Negeri or Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN).
  • Copy of divorce certificate released by Jabatan Agama Islam Negeri or Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN).
  • Copy of death certificate of partner that released by Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN) only for a partner that has passed away.
  • Copy of absolute decree nisi certificate that released by the court

2. Couple / Spouse / Partner

  • Copy of partner identity card (Mykad / MyPR / MyKAS)
  • Copy of Passport / Visa / UNHCR / Border Pass / Birth Certificate / Old Identity Card

3. Child 

  • Biological Child
    • Copy of MyKad / MyKid
    • Copy of birth certificate
  • Adopted Child 
    • Copy of MyKad / MyKid
      Copy of certificate of adoption from Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara

*If the application for BSH that has been sent by the applicant is not complete are still accepted. This is due to the application will be processed by referring to information that is already available at JPN.

Existing recipients

  1. For existing recipients that are already qualified and already received BSH, you would not need to apply for a new application.
  2. But you would need to re-update the application with updated information such as personal information and other information accurately.
  3. You can go to their website at https://bsh.hasil.gov.my/. Click the button for “MYBSH”. Then you would need to fill in your identity card and password to log in.

 

Extra Information

1. Account Bank

  • A new applicant that does not have any account bank is encouraged to open an account bank that has been set.
  • The money will be transferred directly to the account bank holder according to the scheduling of the payment without having to line up to a long line.
