I loved this museum and it was very interesting how it is free and that their was no one around. You could get in the plane and even sit in the old furniture. It was sad to find out that they closed down, I wish it was better maintained and was still running. May you rest in piece.

I visited today, by car (so I can't comment on public transport to get there), but it was very disappointing. It really isn't a museum in the truest sense of the word, really just a collection of rusting planes that have been shown no care and attention at all. No staff on site, very little in the way of information. There appears to be no pride taken in the 'museum' at all. There is a chance to climb on board an old paratrooper transport plane (and even to sit in the cockpit) but it is really a very poor collection. If you are a plane 'nut' or have a particular connection with the Sungei Besi air base and you have plenty of time in KL you may wish to visit, but for the casual observer I wouldn't recommend it at all, particulalry if it involves a lengthy trip by public transport
