We had a nice welcome to the resort but we had never expected that the stay from then onwards to be pure excruciating. There were ants all over the bed the moment we checked in, until the third day when we checked out, where the ants had found its way all over our luggage. Despite the housekeeping calls, feedback to the concierge, all they could advice was "given our environment, this would have been expected of" There was nothing to like about this resort, nothing even so little that could compensate.

The resort is nicely remote, directly at the beach. It's large but able to create a personal feel to it. We had a room directly at the beach. The hotel facilities particularly for kids are outstanding. The not so good experience is the food for both breakfast and dinner at the CBA. Also, there is a particular group of staff which is unacceptably lazy and for a resort of that price and standard a shame. We were met at the pool bar by 4 staff not greeting nor asking what we would like.. When approached 1 specific individual he was busy with his phone even after we made a point

Not sure where to really start. Upon check into our rooms we put our belongings down. 2 minutes later we then go to eat our donuts we got with us from the airport and the box is full of ants. We then check and our room has ants in all different places. Staff offer to spray but that is only temporary relief as they are back again 30 mins later. We are told by staff that we are not to have any food inside room, although we have a baby that requires baby food and my mother who requires gluten free so we have some snacks for her too. I ask the staff if it is acceptable to have ants inside your room in any "5 Star" resort in the world, some say no and others say "depends on the situation". Really? Depends on what situation? I then demand some sort of compensation and have to fight to receive complimentary buffet dinner which we are thankful for. We then go and have dinner, the dinner is what you would get at most 3/4 star places. Things are ok until we go to put some salad in and find that little flying insects are all in the salad. Complete turn off. After sleeping the night we then go to change the children's clothes in the morning and find the suitcase and clothes are full of ants. We then proceed to breakfast at CBA where you are told to find your own seat and there are no cutlery on the tables, so I help myself to some behind the counter while the staff just look at me. In addition the wooden floors in the room are really slippery and can cause injury if you are not extremely careful. Gym also has no mats for workouts and is very tiny for a big resort. Other than the location there is very little about anything else which could claim for it to be 5 star. Would not recommend it at all.

Room is slippery due to the flooring finishing. I fell once n almost fell a few times. Some staff are friendly and helpful. Some are almost borderline rude. Especially the front desk. No smile at all from the female staff. For an expensive hotel, i expect customer service to be top notch with everyone. But i love the hotel, rooms are great and spacious. Food was great, only people needs to be more friendly and helpful.

Really feels like a second home. We completely relax once we arrive here on holiday. Staff greet you every day with a cheerful smile and nothing is too much trouble. Wonderful location, lovely staff, great rooms with oh so comfortable beds - what more can you want???

My friends and I have been visiting Meritus Pelangi for the past 4 years now and it has never failed to disappoint. The staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and facilities are ample. The food is equally amazing. A definite place to stay if you stay when visiting Langkawi.

Pros: Great staff, prompt buggy service, nice poolside and beachside lounging. Cons: Loud critters, mosquitoes circling right outside door waiting to attack. The rooms are in 8-suite blocks but for some reason when a doorbell rings in another unit it's so loud you'd think it's your own. Worst of all, the room has a skylight that shines you awake, which was horrible for a super light sleeper like myself. What's the point of having blackout curtains when you design your rooms like that?

Only been here a day so far, but already very impressed. Staff very friendly and can't do enough. Breakfast outstanding, live music in two areas. Had an issue with the lock on the balcony door and within 10 minutes was fixed, maintenance crew super fast. Only disappointment is the weather, constant showers, but out of our control

Nice beach, excellent swimming pools, good services, nice staff and efficient shuttle services. However, the following item could be improved. 1) Not enough lighting in the room and it is a little bit dark. 2) Mosquitoes, lizards, and fly were found in the room. 3) No fruit to be provided in the room
