BRIM 2017: Application rejected? Here’s why and how to appeal

For your information, every application and information updates of 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) 2017 will be checked via agencies that are designated by Kementerian Kewangan as shown below:

For applicants who are rejected, you will received a mail or an email stating the reasons of rejection.

Fortunately, there is a second chance for applicants to appeal their applications starting from 3rd April 2017 to 31st May 2017. The whole process of appeal is free of charge.

Following are some of the common reasons why your application for 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) 2017 is rejected and we have suggested some steps to appeal the applications.

Personal Information

- Wrong personal information. For example, name and Identity Card number

Double check the spelling and numbers. If there is a mistake, fill in the appeal form with the correct information and enclose with the copies of the documents.

Supporting Documents

-Applicants fail to enclose supporting documents such as the copy of the applicant’s/spouse’s/dependants’ MyCard/MyKid, passport and birth certificate, even spouse’s divorced or death certificate for those who are single parent or widowed applicant.

 

Check all of the copies that should be enclosed with the application form. If you find that there is a missing one, fill in the appeal form with the correct information and enclose the copies of the documents that are omitted.

Information of Spouse

- Information is not complete

Fill in the information of your husband or wife and enclose the copy of the documents. For example, the copy of marriage certificate, MyCard, pay slips and so on.

Time of Applications

- Apply more than 1 time (Husband & wife apply separately)

 

Check whether your husband or wife has applied before you.

Dependencies

- Information is not complete

 

Make sure the information is correct. Fill in the correct information in the appeal form. For example, the spelling of your name and the MyCard number. Enclose with the copies of the documents needed.

Update the Application

- Past BR1M beneficiaries fail to update their personal information for the recent 3 years. (2014)

Any changes in an applicant’s marital status, contact number, personal bank account details, latest mailing address and personal or household income must be updated either online or by updating in the BR1M application form.

It is compulsory for past BR1M applicants to fill in the latest application form even if they have no new personal information to update.

Your application will be invalid if you fail to update your personal information for the recent 3 years. Therefore, you have to fill in the latest information in the appeal form and submit it.

 

Unfortunately, you can’t submit your appeal online, there is no online appeal for BR1M as of April 2017. Applicants have to download the appeal form, fill in the details manually and enclose the copies of documents with the appeal form.

Here we attach the BR1M Appeal Application Form, the list of reasons of reject and the copy of documents that needs to be enclosed. As a reminder, you must enclose the copy of documents according to the code of reason of rejection that were included in the next page of appeal form. For applicants that succeed to get BR1M, you can update your latest information by filling in the appeal form and submit it during the appeal period.

Note that if your application shows Tidak Lulus (Maklumat pendapatan pemohon / pasangan / tanggungan perlu pengesahan) [kod 38], you don’t have to visit the Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) for any validation. You may visit the nearest branches of Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (LHDNM), Pusat Khidmat Hasil (PKH) and Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) for the appeal application for BR1M 2017.

On the other hand, for those whose BR1M application was approved but failed in the Phase 1 crediting process (gagal kredit), applicants will receive a fail credit inform letter with the date of 10 Mar 2017 [BK-02A (2) (i) / BK-02B (2) (i) / BK-02C (2) (ibt) / BK-02C (2)], it is an inform letter with voucher in grey colour (printed in black and white). Applicants have to visit the nearest branch of BSN with the inform letter for redemption starting from 20th March 2017.

Besides, if the application of past BR1M beneficiaries is rejected with the reason of applicant has registered in Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) this year, they will receive the BR1M in stages. However, if they fail to enclose the financial statement and copy of pay slip or the copy of bank book [code 38 & code 46] as the validation for Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN), they will not receive the remaining money of BR1M for the next phrase on Jun and August (category of household).

For convenience, government has launched a mobile app called Semakan BR1M, on both Android and iOS platforms. The app is easy to use and it is free to download. The app will not receive or save any of the user’s personal information and it has no link to any third parties. Most importantly, all of the information comes from the BR1M’s official page. With Semakan BR1M, users can check the status of form submission, application, payment and appeal application anytime, and everywhere.

With the implement of 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M), we know the effort of government to bring benefits to Malaysians. It helps a lot for those who are in need of the money to survive although the amount of aid payments is small. If you are one of the applicants that failed the application, don’t give up!
